“DARUMA” comes from a Japanese traditional character which is always treat as a symbol of perseverance and good luck.
Japanese usually draw one eye only at the beginning to make a wish, or a goal that they would like to fulfill. The second eye will only being drawn when the wish or the goal being fulfill by themselves. We hope everyone in our club will be able to find our their goal in Judo, try to fulfill their goal with the best effort.
Second, there is a saying “七転八起” in Japanese which “DARUMA” can always represent.It is perfect for our Judokas as it means "Falling down seven times, getting up eight times". In our life of Judo or reality, we will always face discouragement but we hope everyone would be able overcome every time to make them grow stronger.
